Car Headlight Conversion Kits

HID TECHNOLOGY

Xenon High Intensity Discharge lamps do not have a filament.  Instead the light is created by an electrical discharge (up to 25000V) between 2 electrodes in an airtight quartz capsule filled with xenon gas, mercury, and metal halide salts.

HID lighting systems are 300% more efficient at creating light than their halogen counterparts and thus are able to provide greater light output with less consumption.  Studies showed a 35-watt HID lamp produced 80% more light than a 55-watt halogen bulb.  Also a 55-watt halogen bulb uses a continuous power draw of 4.5 amps (input voltage dependant), while an HID lighting system uses 5-15 amps to start-up then drops to a mere 3.2 amps during operation.  In addition your HID lighting system provides a longer service life, under normal driving conditions, the bulbs last approximately 3000hours.  Whereas a Halogen is around the 450hour mark (depending upon use and manufacturer). That's over 6 times longer life span than an ordinary halogen lamp.

At the moment I only have the 50W kits in stock as this is what people are asking for.
I carry 35W H4 Hi/Lo kits in stock

COLOUR

The colour in the lamps is determined by the metal halide salts in the quartz capsule.

Most car manufacturers use the 4000K—5000K colour range as this provides the most light output per watt (measured in Lumens).

The higher the lumen reading the more light there is.

The higher the Kelvin (K) reading the more blue the colour becomes and the lumens decrease.

The 4300K Lamp measures around 3000 lumens where as the 8000K reads around 1500 lumens.

A 55W Halogen is around 900 Lumens.

Recommendations:

So for vehicles that are driven in the dark a lot or 4WD’s being driven in the bush a lot then the 4300K would be more suitable.

For mainly city driving 6000K or more would be more suitable.
